Yesterday I took my Palmer to school with the intention of dropping him off and enjoying his last day of preschool. Ever.
I had a workout on the schedule (long overdue), some writing, some cleaning, a shower, pay the bills. Well, you get the idea.
Instead, I stayed. I stayed at preschool watching my boy and his friends enjoy their last day. They had so much fun. He had so much fun. Yesterday I wanted to bottle up preK and save it. Yesterday I cherished it. It was an unexpected joy.
Last night Alyssa had a choir performance. Also a joy. I set aside everything yesterday to just enjoy where my kids are right now. That carried over into today. When unexpectedly a child stayed home sick.
Instead of giving into the worry, anxiety and overwhelming duties that are so much easier to do child-free, I am choosing to just enjoy where they are. Especially when it is with me!
And thankfully, Blogger has been down (and I'm not writing enough posts to catch up today) so I have been able to have all this unscheduled fun guilt-free since I got behind on my "31 Days Closer to" posts! LOL
